2006 wrx transmission (AGAIN!)

So i was driving along last night and about to shift from 2nd to 3rd gear at about 3k, and when i do, all i hear is a loud clunk and then rattle rattle.
i stop to see what happened and found out it goes into all the gears besides 3rd gear, so i assume i just blew my 3rd gear.
i drive to my friends house around the block without using 3rd but when i stopped at the stop light, i hear another loud clunk and now it wont go into any gears.
The rattle goes away when i press down on the clutch when im in neutral. Now i dont know what else is wrong?

im not really sure on what to do at this point, ive only had my car for about 4 months. should i just have them tow it to the dealer? ive been reading about other peoples issues with thier tranny giving out and the dealership not covering them for lame excuses. someone please give me some insight. Thanx in advance.

I would definately take it to the dealer. Since it won't go into any gear I would say it's the clutch not the gears. You are still under warranty so have them look at it. If it's the clutch you will have to buy it but if it's not a normal wear and tear issue they will fix it. Stick to your guns and deny it if they try and say it happened cuz you were beating the hell out of it.

You should be ok as long as the car is stock. Being 19 sort of hurts ya but you can't do much about that.

fyi: they look at tires so uneven wear is a sign of abuse ...and bolts on exhaust to see if a wrench has been put on them ... maybe try to make it look like the bolts for the exhaust have never been touched.

Rub some oily dirt around the bolts.

thanx everyone for the feedback. the car currently has 10k miles on it [pretty high for only 4 months]. im gonna try that "oily dirt on the bolts" haha.
i was reading around the warranty forum and read, they have to PROVE that the mods i did or touched caused the breakage? i hope this pertains to my situtation.

don't leave too much on the bolts though cuz then it looks obvious. Just enough to mask any nicks in the bolt heads. Good luck

i thought the 06 transmissions were supposed to be beefier as it was meant to be put into a car with a 2.5 litre engine, but then i could be wrong. Sorry to hear that, and i really doubt age had to do with the tranny failing at all.

As for the dealership warranty, they dont necessarily have to prove abuse, but i'm guessing that as long as they can prove u've modded your car at one time or another for an increase in hp, they can easily put the blame on that saying the tranny isn't designed for any more power/stress. just my 2 cents.

btw, i've put 74k miles on my wrx with stock tranny and put down 256 awhp at gruppe-'s dyno on my stock tranny.

the '04 and up trannies are stronger than the 02/03. the only reason age would be a problem is the fact that sports cars with younger guys = racing in some peoples eyes. The dealership will try to prove abuse so they don't have to honor the warranty due to many people coming in with problems after beating the life out of their car, I don't agree with it considering that they sell a sports car so you should be able to drive it like a sports car and get it fixed if it breaks.
