sorry
i forgot that i posted here to ask for help...
anyhow, i am running a 11-1 cr 2.2L out of my 93 legacy. i hade the heads ported and polished, high speed valve springs, torque cam, lightened flywheel, balanced internals, ceramic coated pistons...
the jdm sylvia injectors sound good to me, i dont mind modifying the wiring harness... the only thing i need to consider is that i am not going to be able to tune the engine right away...
my plan right now is to replace injectors with bigger ones, making it run rich enough to drive it (while watching the a/f meter as well to make sure i am not running too lean) and than within a month of breaking the engine in get a link ecu...
because i am getting the link i dont want to get a fuel pressure riser or a s-afc... because all of these functions will be taken care of by the link...
will i be able to do this? i would like to be able to limp around town to break the engine in (prolly running 95 octane)
any ideas, advice? im just starting to get a handle on this project!
thanks

Well, first off, if it's only going to be a month, why not just wait for the Link? And run whatrever gas you plan on running normally. Higher octane will hide potential knocking problems. Lastly, don't just 'putter around town.' Take it out and get some good hard runs in- short enough so that you don't get heat soak, but enough to make sure your rings seat properly.

How are you going to run it rich enough without an S-AFC or RRFPR? You might be able to monitor it, but you'll have no way to modify it. Also, you can't break in an engine while limping around. I wouldn't even drive it until you've got a way to modify your A/F. If you must, then run high octane and low boost. Some wastegates have an adjustment on the rod which allow you to run boost as low as 3 or 4 lbs.

sorry impreza7, but i am not doing a turbo build! <i know this is the wrong fourm, but oh well> if you look back a few posts you will see what i have dont to my engine...
i dont want to "limp around town" i just want to avoid buying a safc and fuel pressure riser while saving for my link. and of course avoiding detonation is very important to me as well...
so basically i am going to be keeping it from running lean by swapping injectors first, and monitoring it with an a/f meter... high octane pump gas will help me avoid detonation further...
sound right?
i want to be able to drive this thing as soon as possible!
thanks for the help!
