Those sa 90's are hot. My ultimate choice, although getting old now, is a set of Te37's in a crazy offset so that the spoke slant outwart toward the edge of the wheel. A bit out of my price range though. The gold really just wasn't my thing.

tarmac 2 has the clearance for STI brakes, so they will probably clear any "reasonable" brake upgrades.
personally, i am partial to my own choice, 17" prodrive p1 in gunmetal. retail about 1k, but i picked mine up used for 650 shipped. (they won't clear STi brakes and the previous owner was getting one.) keep your eyes open, and be patient, and you can get some great deals.

I'm in the same dilema.. have an 03 black and am looking at the Tarmacs as well... Gold looks good on Blue but from what i've seen on black it looks a little week. Silver or gunmetal is nice but everyone with a black REX does it makeing it tend to look a little stock or average... afraid i'll get boring to quickly with the color. Bronze has just enough color in it to say it's not silver but at the same time keeping it dark and not that bright gold that looks great on the blue car. I'm considering the Bronze in 18.... gives me the abilty to go with a wider tire down the line if I want...
Peace..
Peace..
