Which wheel is stronger?

SSR Comp in 17 inches, or the Volk TE-37 in 17 inch.

I can't tell if the SSR semi-forged is stronger than the Volk forge process. I know the SSR's are lighter.

Anybody know. I have searched buy haven't found a straight answer.

Thanks

The 17" SSR Comp has a listed load rating of 1115lbs. and is TUV approved. I have never had a "broken wheel" occurrence on this or any wheel we sell. The Competition has proven itself on the track as well as the highway.

You are planning to move up in wheel size, so your sidewall height will be 1/2" less. To increase the wheel protection, you should add some air pressure, as both wheels will bend if they contact the road. This means the ride will be a little rougher, but it's a small price to pay for wheel protection and enhanced performance.

We don't publish the load ratings of the wheels because we would never sell anything that falls below what an auto manufacturer recommends, and load rating is not the best way to campare wheels, assuming it exceeds the minimum. When a customer gets rid of his 15" wheels for 19" wheels and bends one within a year, then tells everyone the wheels are junk, I stand in disbelief.

If you're truly concerned with the "dead weight" capacity for the wheel; i.e. if you're towing extreme amounts or loading the car to or beyond capacity, then go for the wheel (regardless of wheel weight) with the highest capacity. But rest assured, our wheels carry structural warranties and we stand behind what we sell.
