what size tire on 18's on a gc8

i was wondering what size tire i can put on my 18 inch rim thats on my gc8 . i dont want any rubbing issue's . right now i have a 35 profile tire, but i need more rubber on it. the car is lowered too.

215/35/18 w/ out rubbing. That's why I like 17's. Better ride quality also.

215/40-18 to satisfy the load requirements on your car, but will likely require lip roll.

There are not too many 215/40R18s out there either that I know of which fit the high performance arena. But they do exist.

Sorry for the stupidity, but what is a lip roll? I was looking at getting some 18's for my 2001 Impreza RS (18 X 7.5). These would require the 215/40-18 tires, so are there modifications required for the wheel wells for these? Thanks to anyone that can reply to me.

Lip roll means that the very edge of your fenders need to be "rolled" up such that they will not be touching the tires when cornering hard or under a significant load.

i have 215/35/18, and they cleared the lip by about 1/32", i rolled them just to be safe.

Your speedo must be pretty off with that tire size.

But your mileage count will definitely be off by a bit too.

but your stock speedo is off by about the same amount in most cases, i checked mine against a speed limit radar thing the cops put up on the side of the road.
