Larger rims=odd milage count
It all depends on outer diameter which directly relates to revolutions per mile. When purchasing new wheels there's rhyme and reason behind the tires chosen - the outer diameter needs to be close to the original equipment. The "rough" industry standard is a difference of 3% or less. Think of the tire/wheel as a donut - we're only making the hole in the middle bigger with bigger wheels.
So, to answer your question. When correctly "plus sizing," (see sticky posts on top of page) the speedometer and odometer aren't noticeably affected.
