I've found that at 24k miles I've got quite a bit of tread to go. Maybe someone can give you a definitive answer to RE92 tire life, but I think it depends on a few factors:

- How hard you drive the car.

- Proper inflation pressure.

- Following tire/wheel rotation schedule.

- Road surface conditions where you normally drive.

I'm trying to make my factory tires last until I can step up to decent a summer tire and real snow tires for a second set of rims. Looks like I'm gonna make it.

I don't know what the ideal pressure is for the Bridgestones. I use 38 lbs. front and 35 lbs. rear.

Road & Track magazine had a technical response to a reader's question last year about whether it was better to stick with the automaker's recommended tire pressure, or inflate it to the maximum pressure as stated on the tire sidewall for better performance, fuel economy, etc. R&T asked the tire industry tech gurus and the answer was that it is no longer advantageous to run the maximum pressure as stated on the sidewall - they are the absolute maximum, period. Instead, they said that passenger car tires can run at their optimum performance in a range from several pounds less pressure than the sidewall indicates. If I recall, the magazine editors reminded readers that putting in additional pressure up to the indicated maximum is still okay for things like autocross events (can't remember if they mentioned road events on D.O.T. tires) to stiffen the sidewall.
