Tire Fitment....Rota SDR on a WRX

Currently I have 225 45 17 Bridgestone RE750s on my car...I will most likely have to replace them before the end of the year.

Is this the widest I can go on my Rota SDRs? I believe my rims are 17X7.5 but don't know the offset.

I was hoping for 235 or 245 width tires.

I'm pretty sure the SDR is 7.5" wide. Whatever the tire company recommends is what you should go with as far as a max width per tire per rim width. The standard is 225's for 7.5 and I've seen them on 7's too.

Bridgestone S03's says you can use a 245/17 on a 7.5 to 9 inch wide rim but that they recommend 8".

Just check the web sites for the tires you want and see what they recommend. Then find out from others on the boards if they will rub or not.

^^^I know what will fit the rim. But what will fit the rim and also fit a WRX? I'm worried about rubbing and such.

Bpang,
I'm running 17x7.5" SDR's on my 03 wagon with 225/45ZR17 Yokohamas and I have no rubbing issues whatsoever (I also have the Pro Kit springs with NO rolled fenders). When I change out the tires (which will be soon) I'm gonna try 235's, so I'd say you could EASILY fit 235's under your sedan. 245's would be another question, but it'd be cool to see if you could! Let us know what you do! I'm interested in seeing!

P.S. The offset is 48mm, unless you got the wagon specific rims, which I doubt you did, and those have an offset of 53mm.

235 should fit with no problems. You might have some minor rubbing.

Whoa back from the dead!

I'll most likely be getting new tires for these rims before the end of the year. I'll let you all know what happens and if I get any rubbage

^^^Dunno...gonna have to sort that out too.

I just traded for Rota Torques in 17x8 size so I am definitely gonna go for 235s.
