Not to sure which size tire to get for 17x7.5 Rota SDR wheels on my 05' WRX sedan. Looking to get Pirelli P Zero Nero tires, would 225/45/17 be right? Could I go wider and also maybe get 40 on the sidewall?

 

225's are what come on the stock sti rims. they will fit fine. you could actually go up to 245's with no problems

 

ok, got a new problem. Subydude is kind of phasing out the SDR and they dont have the 48mm offset, they have 53mm. What would go wrong with a different offset? Would spacers work?

 

well, the rims would sit further inside the fender. spacers work, but i wouldn't go over 5mm. they tend to cause problems if you go too big. make sure you get hub centric spacers with all the hardware. i.e. longer studs.

 

What size tires are you planning to run? The stock sti wheels are +50-+55.

 

i want to go wide as i can with 40 or 45s. Would i be ok with 17x7.5 wheels with 53mm offset and 225(or bigger)/45/17

 

I have 225/45 'kooks on my 04 BBS and there is plenty of room... I plan on putting some 245 azenis for my next set.
