Luke or Dexter...lil help please

I have a problem with my tires rubbing. Basically I should have gotten 215s, instead of 225s. I have seen a Tire Rack ad for bump stops. Do you all carry these for my 98 rs? Would you recommend this instead of camber bolts or something else?

Thanks
Luke

First question, what wheels are you running? Specifically, what size are they and what offset? Second, is the car lowered?

Bump stops aren't the answer. Putting bumpstops to prevent rubbing will wreak havoc with your ride and handling.

Depending on the answers to those questions, camber bolts might solve the problem.

I've got 18x7.5 ALT wheels with a +42 offset. Stock suspension. I think the problem is that I'm running a little low offset and a little too big tire. They don't rub all the time, only on big bumps and really sharp accelerating turns. I've already had the fenders rolled, but they still rub sometimes.

Let me know what you think.

Luke

I'll be at the beach for a week, so if i don't answer something you know why.

The problem is your offset more than the tires. Those wheels are meant for something other than a Subaru, probably a Toyota. Nothing you can do about it other than going with narrower tires. Make sure you shop by the actual width of the tires and not the listed size.

your problem has nothing to do with the tires ..... you wheels have the wrong offset ...

That's what I was thinking, but couldn't remember how the damn offset worked. Why don't you just roll the fender a touch.

I know the offset is "wrong". I spent a long time deliberating on whether to get them or not. Eventually I decided to, with advice from multiple people including a tire rack rep. Not that they told me anything wrong. Obviously the offset is not what is meant for subaru's, but I had been told that no serious damage would happen to suspension and such with the added stress. I just overlooked the possibilty of rubbing. I'm guessing that with 215s, I would be perfectly fine.

Fender lips have been rolled. Is it possible to stretch the fender metal a little bit or bend it out?

Luke

EDIT: No one has really answered my question. Those two things are the only fixes that I can see other than new wheels or tires. Any more suggestions are appreciated.

the 215 might be enough to eliminate the rubbing but, not all 215's are the same size .....
