Just to make sure... Will my offset work correctly?
Going through the threads and search engine's, I'm just wanting to check if my selected offset on these wheels would work.. they're HP Racing Hurricanes in 17, i'm thinking their 7.5 width, the guy told me it has a offset of 40.. hmm .. also getting 215/45/17 tires with it.. you think it'll work without rubbing? this guy who works at the place selling these to me says they will work without rubbing, just curious becase i'll be ordering before thursday ..
I would be very surprised if they didn’t rub the fenders. Read these threads https://www.i-club.com/forums/showth...ghlight=offset. https://www.i-club.com/forums/showth...ghlight=offset.

Thanks for the threads
Also using this calculator, http://toy4two.home.mindspring.com/offset.html
and assuming the stock wheels are 16x6.5 at 53 offset, the new wheels would have the same placement of center of wheel but would stick out 26mm or 1 inch on the sides.. hmm..

I'm not positive but I think the oem offset is +55 mm. Also dont forget, some 215's are physically wider than some 225's so if the new tire you buy has a wider physical width than a bridgestone re92 you will lose even more room (not much).
Nice link.
