Just curious, anyone running directional tires, and if so, how many miles have you gotten (or think you will) get out of them? I was wondering if the overall lifespan would be shorter due to the rotation limitation (i.e., increased tire wear because you can't do the cross pattern rotation).
Please mention the tire model, and the car the tires are riding on. TIA

I'm running 225 45 17 Kumho Ecsta MX on extremely lightweight SSR Comps. 03 WRX Sedan. I have 31K miles on the MXs and will be replacing them soon. This is considered good life for the MXs, which are an extreme grip, near R-compound performance tire.
MXs are a directional tire: rotated back to front, front to back, same sides. I have virtually even wear on all four wheels, but the inside of all tires have accelerated wear due to the weird toe-in on stock WRXs. I will have the toe-in realigned before installing the new set of MXs. That will cure the inside wear issue.
If alignment and balance is right and rotation is done at recommended intervals, directional tire tires will not wear prematurely.
