Yeah, I'll get video of them setting the base plate then I'll call rounds so you can see the impact zone. It's pretty amazing at how powerful those things are. Kill radius of almost 2 football fields from the impact point.

40MM mortars are freakin sweet
first time I shot one I almost pissed my pants and fell in love at the same time.
when they splash down, its freaken loud, like a stick of dynamite.
its awesome also to fire the illumination rounds because they are bright

To my knowledge (and I've been around this stuff for a long time), no 40mm mortar exists. You may have fired the 60mm (M224), the M203 however is a 40mm grenade but not a mortar (even though it is an indirect fire weapon). The 60mm or the 81mm is probably what you fired.
