We found that his dinky little exhaust was a huge bottleneck with the larger turbo
. The car made almost 280whp at 14.5psi but we couldn't get it above about 310whp no matter what we threw at it. Upon later inspection, we found that his muffler is baffled and there's a custom section in the cat-back that necks down smaller than 2.5". It seems this exhaust flows very well up to around 300-310whp but doesn't want to handle anything more. Next week we're going to do some testing with a very free flowing exhaust to verify that this is indeed the major restriction.

Thumbs up to Ed for getting my car to run great. It was a pleasure - thanks again.

two more days to wait seems like an eternity but only because i already know what is in store for my car. It's great to see that Ed is continually busy tuning and growing his business. The crappy part for me is my lack of patience as the wait grows..The rules of supply and demand are in full effect. My first tune was done a couple days after setting my appt. The second tune was a week after my appt. This tune is almost two weeks after my appt. The next time i need a tune ... three weeks? Ed needs to clone himself ... or i need to learn more patience. Maybe both but either way big props to the EQ crew for working dilligently towards giving me a strong stage 1 build, a solid and methodical break-in map, and great power and drivability from the tune. I'll post my dyno when i get it.

just got my car back.. initial feelings are better than ever.. over 270/286 on a conservative tuned vf43 is pretty incredible. Not just because of the really good numbers... more because the car idles, drives, sounds so smooth at any speed. Thanks so much ed for continuing to deliver the best service ive ever had.

Got my 08 STI tuned by Ed. Only power mods are a Invidia catted DP and AEM CAI. Made 255HP/265TQ on 91 Octane and 97 Degree weather.
Due to an issue with a weak stock fuel pump Ed and I did two separate tuning sessions. I think each time we spent 3+ hours on the road. Ed was meticulous on details - when the wideband wasn't reading right he made sure we went back to the shop and move the sensor to a new locaton for better reading. He also tried hard to isolate and eliminate any possible shift knock the car might've had. Overall I got 6+ hours of top-notch professional tuning for 1 price. Nothing more need to be said. Well worth the drive to Fairfield! Thanks Ed.
