Accountability? Im all for it.
Systematic racism is still alive and well in this nation. The good news is, there are people who understand this component of American life and are working hard within the system to change things for the better.
Come down to the South and tell me that blacks are not oppressed in some degree or another. Better yet, tell that to those that are oppressed. Walk down MLK Blvd and speak your truth.
And Subielover, I mistook your e-thugging for e-thugging. My bad.
btw, I once owned a VW, hence the screen name.
Peace

Look, I know quite a few Black folks that were born in the South, and when they were old enough to realize that they'd never make it in The South, they left for greener pastures.
All Americans have the same opportunty to succeed.

So your answer is to run away from areas that denigrate minorities and move to minority-friendly cities?
Why not stand in the face of injustice and advocate for change? If America is indeed the city on a hill--land of the free--I believe that we should do just that. I do not call this liberalism. I call this decency.

Lead the way.
Change The System.
But there's nothing decent about taking my money and giving it to those that simply do not want to succeed on their own.
In fact it's down right cruel to all parties involved.
So, what's your solution?
Tell me a fair system that will properly motivate these oppressed masses you are defending.
Keep in mind that if you intend to fix The System by taking from me, forcing me to accept the unacceptable, or turning me into the Bad Guy, you, my friend, will never win.

My point is that you are ignoring a major reason why blacks are in a cycle of poverty vs immigrants that are not. Hella's point/question is not valid at all, its ignorant at best.

Why is it that you think people dont have choices? It seems as though you think anyone born poor has to stay that way. I think people can make alot of there own opportunities if they just take the time to find the right doors. Sure the rich may have it easier cause the have someone to help focus thier attention on the right things, but the less fortunate have alot of the same choices to make. Are you dirt poor or really rich, I'm just curious on why you have so much insight on this subject.

Social welfare is not and should not be about handing out freebies to people who dont deserve it and to people who dont hold themselves for their own actions or inactions. I have worked within this system and know that welfare can potentially feed dependency and, yes, have seen people who lazily toil through it.
However, this does not dismiss the need to invest in certain groups of people. For example, I have worked predominantly with foster youth. Did you know that close to half of the homeless, of prostitutes, and of many people in jail for harmless drug offenses had previously been in the foster care system? It is totally jacked up.
My responses to the conservative-minded posts are not intended to be polemic. My heart goes out to these kids and I want to see more justice in their lives. And yes, I have dedicated myself to this cause and hope that I don't back down from the good fight.
Peace

No.
And they shouldn't.
Look, my friend, you really don't know dick about me.
A long time ago, I posted my entire back ground; I think I posted it after MVWRX questioned me in a similar, albeit, more polite manner.
Maybe Salty can dig it up.
Nowhere on your ****ing birth cert is there a box checked that states "You will have a fair life."
Life is a struggle and the strong will always win.
If you want something, ****ing work hard, ignore your distractors, and succeed.
So, are you strong or weak?
