I guess Jefferson and the other founding fathers got it wrong then:
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights"
I guess they were just ****ing around when they spoke of "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."
If I, like most Americans, heard someone saying that we got what we deserved on 9/11, I would be obviously offended. However, calling an entire group of people "animals" based on the actions of a few is ignorant. If Muslims are "animals" because of the horrible actions of some of their people, then couldn't one call honorable members of the US military "animals" due to the horrible actions of a few dishonorable soldiers? Throwing such a broad label over a group of people doesn't accomplish anything and only breeds more hatred.

Those of you that seem to favor being scared and reaching for more guns in such 'scary times' as these, while eschewing the basic human rights of those that frighten you are doing the EXACT OPPOSITE of what the founding fathers wanted for our nation. What's the point of the last 230 years if we abandon the foundations (rights to life, liberty, habeus corpus, bans on cruel/unusual punishment, etc) of this country every time we perceive a threat that doesn't fit a previous experience, even if it's Islamic terrorists crashing planes into buildings? This is the very definition of selling out your patriotism, and seems to be the true legacy of the Bush years.

.Sure, because our founding fathers penned the Declaration of Independence and Constitution in a totally benign environment. No doubt that historical accounts of a brutal British occupation, featuring assaults on American life and liberty are totally overblown and it was one big picnic back then.
Those of you that seem to favor being scared and reaching for more guns in such 'scary times' as these, while eschewing the basic human rights of those that frighten you are doing the EXACT OPPOSITE of what the founding fathers wanted for our nation. If they were truely peaceful, then why attack jews, americans, and pretty much anyone else that doesn't believe in Mohammed. Everyone is an infidel in their eyes unless you are muslim. Usually I'm pretty tolerant of most crap...but not them.
