Terrorists marching down the streets of SF??

WTF is this?! Since when did we allow terrorists the right of free speech and protest?

Ever since the republic was founded we grant everyone free speech- it is in the constitution.

Since when did an arbitrary label deny anyone their constitutional rights?

this belongs in the politics forum anyway...

Ah well you being from Berkeley I figure you'd say something like that.

I however, don't think openly supporting a terrorist group like Hamas is "the thing to do" nowadays nor was it ever.

Last time I checked, Hamas was the democratically elected government of the Palestinian territories.

Just like the Republicans who were in charge here the last few years.

I'm not saying that their shooting missiles into Israel is justified- any more than W and friends bombing the crap out of Iraq was, but neither is the IDF's murdering hundreds of innocent Palestinian women and children- its really quite simple- terror breeds more terror.

You can't stop terrorism by inflicting more terrorism any more than you can stop a fire by pouring gasoline on it.

and this still belongs in the politics forum, not here.

While I agree with your free speech stance, I disagree with your pouring gas analogy.
Hamas is the fire that Israel is pouring gas onto; it may flame up quite nicely, but quickly burns out.
So, Israel, keep pouring...

I'm sure US will take some military action as well, if hamas drop some missiles on us. Stop playing victim.

Well said. People are always going to find a reason to destroy oneanother. Thas how we do yo. I guess it all depends on whos side your on. For instance, a long long time ago a few Euros wished to segregate themselves from the "Queen" England, thus settling on the north america, pillaging, killing and raping the native american people. But I guess its all perspective.

Let them protest by walking or what ever....
Two things
1# they are peaceful and not blowing us up.
2# we now know who they all are and can round them all up if needed.

all i see are just a bunch of hypebeast hypocrites with their kanye west scarfs. im pretty sure they enjoy their 'american' lives and still they bash it... i say if you dont like the country...then get out.

on another note i've been kinda thinking of the whole immigration ordeal... and i came up with a pretty sweet plan! where everyone wins! i am an immigrant myself and so is my mom. we came in 88. but she never had another kid....which is the key! i say prohibit conceiving a child for all immigrants UNTIL they attain full citizen status...i work in a grocery store and i see it all the time... people comming in with their foodstamps buying hella junk and pulling out hella cash to buy beer n cigs...all out of our pockets! and can't forget to mention all these snot nosed kids running around, with no direction, no respect, and no manners. if they have a kid... send em back!!!! less stress on our taxes bein used to support unwanted kids, and making immigrants more responsible pre-citizens! although i know this would never happen cuz it took me like 10 years to get my citizenship lol i thought i would give it a shot. haha totally off topic...please dont flame me, im very sensitive!

I completely agree with you, especially about humans and peace.

what is hamas?

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...071700898.html

first paragraph from that link:

Hamas is the Arabic acronym for the Islamic Resistance Movement, a Palestinian organization committed to eliminating Israel and replacing it with an Islamic state. Considered a terrorist organization by the United States and the West for its suicide attacks on Israel, it is popular among Palestinians for its network of schools, clinics and civic services, as well as its armed resistance to Israeli military occupation. The group is an offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood, an Egyptian-based organization that has advocated Islamic government in the Arab world for 80 years.
what is hezbollah?

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...071700912.html

Hezbollah attacks on civilian targets prompted the United States to label the group a terrorist organization. In 1985 three members of the group hijacked a TWA flight and killed Navy diver on board.

so trying to eliminate these "terrorrists" is another form of terrorism?

i say let them bash as much as they want. after all, that is the core of the freedoms we have as people in this country.

eventually, they will just give up. a good majority of them are just johnny-come-lately type protestors...

Well, a terrorist to one group is considered a hero to others. So yeah, trying to eliminate terrorists can be seen as terrorism, from a different perspective.
