You bring up a very good point. You never do get recognition for the good you do, usually it is just negative that comes up, but we put ourselves in the role of world police though and we can't continue to ignore the tragedy that is taking place over there besides do you really expect the French to do a damn thing? I mean you and I both know the French aren't going to do anything. The Sudanese forces would crush the spineless French.

Sooner or later we will have to deal with it either alone, through NATO or through the UN.

This pretty much sums it up as far as American international relations. We get no create for the aid we do provide, only discredit for what we fail to. If the other nations in NATO and the UN gave half what America did the world would be a totally different place.

Did he say he was the supreme authority, arriving here to deliver the ultimate insult which you would never forget?

I think all he was trying to do is maybe get you to read your own post and ask yourself if it sounds the least bit ignorant or short-sighted.

Nice try though.
But it is proof that the U.S. will throw billions away on fruitless endevours. We sent all those soldiers over there, spent tons of tax payers $$$, some paid the ultimate price, and didn't really manage to make much of a change. At least Clinton thought it was a good idea...lol

I agree with most of your post and understand your reasoning. This is one of my main points of contention.

In Iraq, Saddam killed innocent people.

In Sudan, people are being killed in acts of genocide, acts that threaten the livelihood of an entire subculture of Africans.

While Saddam was an evil SOB, he was definitely not carrying out genocidal acts.

You can't possibly be stooping this low to justify your case, dub2w? Come on man... dust yourself off.

Saddam tried to stomp out the Kurds and Shiites. He had his men throw them off buildings and smash their skulls by the dozens until the next mass grave was dug. It was textbook genocide anyway you cut it, bro... religion and politics fall under the definition of genocide.
