They both have valid points. It is a cheap shot but guess what? In this particular case if the illegal wasn't there the girl would still be alive. It's as simple as that.

I hate them both, but this argument certainly shows the spin coming from the 'no spin zone'. There is absolutly no connection between being an illegal immigrant and driving drunk...the fact that O'Reilly tried to link them is pretty disgusting.

Being here illegally doesn't mean you're a duece candidate.
However, try this logic:
I rob a bank.
FBI rolls up.
Agent A accidently shoots Agent B, killing her.
I get charged w/ murder 1, because had it not been for my action, Agent B would still be alive.
In this case, had the illegal not been here in the USA, the girl would still be alive.
So, the fact that the driver was illegal is quite relevant.

people who drive drunk should lose there license
if you are an illegal immigrant, you should be dealt with according to the laws of the state and country.
how many other people died teh same day from drunk drivers and we didnt hear a single word about it????

both have good points, although I'm biased, my family came to this country illegally, but eventually gained citizenship via the proper channels.

Is there precidence for that type of charge? I've never heard of that. But yeah, if that's true, then there's some validity I guess. The problem is the huge number of people that are killed by domestic drunks...makes an illegal drunk very insignificant.
I think it was wrong that O'Reilly used the publicity this had drawn as a way for him to speak his mind about illegal immigration. I am completely against illegal immigration but this has absolutely no connection. On a sidenote, his *** should have been deported as soon as it was made apparent he was an illegal and this family would still have their daughter. No matter how you look at it, our government is failing us on the immigration issue no matter what your stance.

My friend is a CHP officer.
Some bad guys ran from him.
Long story short, he (the cop) slipped & fell while chasing the bad guy, hurting his knee.
Bad guy got ~7yrs for felony assault.
If you & I rob a bank, and a cop shoots me dead, you will most likely be charged with my death.
