Holy Crap!!! A guy just had a stroke in front of me!
Oh my gawd...
I was at the Castro Valley BART station waiting for my ride like I usually do right next to the taxis. This guy goes to get into a cab, opens the door and falls straight back with a huge thud. His head smacked the concrete, his head busted open, and his glasses went flying. I was standing right next to him basically and when he fell, he almost fell right on top of me. I tried to catch him, but I was too stunned or too slow or something. I checked to see how he was and his eyes were totally rolled up in his head and he was having mild siezures. I made sure he was breathing and had a pulse and then I dialed 911. I was a lifeguard for 7 years so it was all just kinda automatic. Luckily for me, a nurse was there to pick someone up and came over to help. He came to about four minutes later, but was pretty incoherent for a couple of minutes. I was on the phone with 911 for 5 minutes before the BART police came... from across the street... another couple of minutes until paramedics and another ten until the ambulance came...

that sucks man, i've been to a couple sports games where they've had to cart guys off because of heart attacks and strokes. it's definitely depressing. at least you did the right thing, nice job for a fellow ex-lifeguard.

Yeah, traumatic **** sucks. I was standing about 15 feet from a Navy SEAL when he fell about 20 feet our of a SH-60(Chopper) and landed on his back/head on the flight deck. It busted his cranium(flight helmet) right off of his head. It shook me up pretty badly. To worsen the situation, the SEAL was the SEAL TEAM corpsman (Medic). His head and throught swelled up, and he nearly croaked. They had to intibate him just so he could breath. Medivac and all that **** from the Sea of Japan!
You should drink a beer/glass of wine/shot of whisky to calm your nerves. Maybe just take a walk or something.
I hope that you feel better! Sorry to hear of your experience!
Good luck!
