What ever happened to our Army corps of engineers doing the support and infrastructure work?
And again (once in a blue moon) I find myself agreeing with Hella Dumb, pretty scary that.
Actually, a few of us did grumble about the Daimler-Benz acquisition of Chrysler, but recently I heard that the honeymoon was over and Daimler was looking to sell off or spin-off a good portion of their Chrysler holdings....
But if Dubai isn't good enough to manage all of our ports I see no reason why we should entrust them with the majority of our defense sub-contracting.
Halliburton, recall, is the company that has made the most money of any private enterprise off of the Iraq War--$27 billion to date, most of it in the form of extraordinarily profitable no-bid contracts (the company earned a record $2.3 billion last year alone).
