As I’ve mentioned earlier in this thread, the leftist movement showed a majority of it's ugly face during the earlier years of Vietnam. Most of them cringed at the very thought of war regardless of it's justification and still do today. There's no doubt that this mind set was not present during the 40's.

That said, do you honestly think WWII would have been won if it wasn't for the uniform support from the G.I. and Silent generations? After all, we did take over a dictator that was voted into power as chancellor, right? That very premise would have started a protest on the White house lawn if the same leftist movement was strong then.

This is all the comic is trying to tell us. And for te record, being a leftist is just as bad as being on the far right. If you consider yourself a leftist then I think your thinking is flawed. If you consider yourself to be a closer to the middle then a)why do you care and; b)why are you being so defensive of said comic?

Well, because its fun. Thats all i can really say. I don't really care that much, but its fun to raise a stink and see what happens - sometimes i learn something, other times it just gives my brain somthing to do while I'm modeling simple objects at work.
I don't take myself serisously either here, even though i act like it. My girlfreind is a double major in global economics and environmental policy, and knows more about international law and policy than anyone i know - and i'm too embarrassed to show her this stuff because it is ALL so hilariously mis-informed and ignorant. We are car guys talking about politics - that in itself should tell you somthing. We are all out of our league, and because of that we are all on an even playing feild, so we can just bicker and fight and threaten each other with violence, and its fun.

I'm not a car guy. I hope to be as soon as I retire. I've been in the Army for 17 years; started out as a Private/E-1 in late 1987. I've since earned a degree in Political Science and was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant of Infantry almost 8 years ago. I'm now a Captain on my 2nd command. 1st command was of an Infantry rifle company with 135 men (mainly 18-21yrs old).

EVERYTHING is a joke to me, except combat and the welfare of my men.

There's a few posters here with degrees from reputable colleges and some of them are pursuing an education past a bachelors. Gpatmac is a commander in U.S. Army, has attended major-grueling military schools and endured real world experiences that would make some flee for their lives. If anything, his opinion holds as much water on this comic as you think your girlfriend’s would regarding a comic on economics.

My Wife graduated from Georgetown (with subaruguru) at the top of her class, speaks three fluent languages (Japanese, Italian, Polish) and asks me about current events. It's not that I'm right in my opinion(s), it's just that she knows I know more about the issues. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to understand -and- discuss politics, foreign policy and things that may affect your way of life. All you need is an open mind and a good pair of reading glasses to grasp the fundamentals.

I’m a successful, self-employed business man with a few people working for me, real estate owner (not just my own house), good husband, good friend to many with social life and Veteran of some fairly prestigious, highspeed units (SOC).
