Talking Uphold this......

god is the root of so much war and ruin, why promote the idea any further. The leaders of this country past and present did not always uphold the morals that i learned from religion. so why pretend that they did. I didnt say the pledge in high school because of the god thing, i think we should focus on being moral and ethical and not kid ourselves that anything other than our own best judgment matters.

Personally, I don't see a problem with showing historical documents that mention god in public school. But, it seems to me that the underlying issue that nobody here has mentioned is that the teacher was passing out these materials because they mentioned god. I think this is the real problem.

I'm christian and I certainly don't want my children's teacher "educating" them on god.
