Yay! http://greensickle.com/2006/10/army_...my_of_o_1.html
I personally do not like the idea (like many other veterans/servicemen i've talked to) but understand how those that have not served would.
Drills are going to have a field day with recruits using this one... poor bastards...

And here's the pilot commercial: http://209.235.231.98/army/
I fell asleep in the first 10 seconds....
To me, the answer to the U.S. Army advertising dilemma is simple: Copy the Navy and Marines
The viewer shouldn't have to read anything that could lull him or her to sleep and encourage them to change the channel. Hire a great voice like James Earl Jones or Morgan Freeman (The Navy uses Keith David) for a very small fraction of the $1.35 billion and throw another piece of that billion to a kickass rock group for the rights to use their soundtrack. Center the entire thing around "BE ALL THAT YOU CAN BE" with some killer SF/Ranger/Airborne/Aviation action scenes and give the rest of the money back to the men and women serving and initial enlistment bonuses.

/\ The "America's Army" game team used to work out of the same building I'm in.
Pretty cool bunch of guys. Got to see how games are made.
They are up in the SFO area now at the old Presidio I believe.
About that commercial, it looks more like a theatrical trailer than a recruitment tool.
