i've just recieved my Tanabe gf210 lowering springs today......yay. but i'm new to the whole subaru thing, so im not familiar w/ the susupension setup yet. i'm planing on doing my own install, and jsut dont wanna get stuck in the middle of the job cause it's my daily driver. is there any posts that show the install on a MY04 wrx? i'm sure that the install is similar on the 02-03 models as well, any pics and install info will be much appreciated........thnx........Brandon

Yea, use the ScoobyMods post - it was a big help for me. A couple of things from recent experience on a 2003.
- Get spring compressors even though some people say you don't need them.
- Make sure to loosen the top nut holding the struts together before removal from the car - it's a major PITA otherwise.
- The rear 19mm nuts holding the strut to the wheel carrier are a huge problem!!! I almost gave up. They are so tight.
- The newer struts don't require the brake line to be disconnected from the caliper.
Good luck.

yah those 19mm lower bolts are frekkin impossible to take off.
make sure you get a breaker bar and a cheaper pipe, or
be ready to hack a box wrench with your 32oz mallet.

Use the lug wrench that comes with the car to get those 19mm bolts off
We were breaking wrenches and ratches
Then I took the breaker bar and put it on the lug wrench, remember it was also 19mm and voila! they came off. Get at least 3 foot bar... the more the merrier
jason
p.s. the drivers side is alot easier to get off, epecally if yer chubby

I used a Craftsman 19mm 1/2" drive socket on an 18 inch breaker to get mine (and several other people's) loose, but the lug wrench is a really good idea. Especially since the pipe extension is a lot cheaper than Craftsman tools.
