strange sound when using brakes (was: maybe someone can help me)

maybe someone can help me

i just got my car out of the paint shop and now when i hit the brakes (sometimes) i hear like an electric sound like verrrrrrr... what the heck is that? Have i just never noticed it before?

it's coming from the passenger front area, almost like the glovebox... any ideas?

You didn't state which model car you drive but if it's the stock WRX brakes, you should hear no noise upon brake application unless the ABS is activated. You would (probably) know when this occurs because there would be rapid pulsing of the brake pedal along with the noise and the vehicle would feel like it's coasting instead of slowing down (braking distances are increased).

Why was your car in a body shop? Accident damage?

It's hard to diagnose sounds over the internet. If the sound bothers you, take it to the dealer as long as you can duplicate the sound for them. If the brakes don't work properly, take it to the dealer as soon as possible.

thanks, just had some scratches fixed and painted side skirts. 03 wrx, i don't notice anything wrong with my braking, it's a very electric sound? I'm shure it's fine...
