About two weeks ago I put my Whiteline Front Swaybar in and I'd just like to say that it rocks. (Thanks LiquidSubaru, hope you're liking the boat
) After getting it all installed I've found that it's a lot easier to slide around corners. I feel this is a good thing.
However, all is not well. When I installed the swaybar, I put a goodly amount of grease on the bushings and the bar. It wasn't any great grease, just some cheapo lithium-soap (cherry flavored) grease I got in a tub at Walmart. For the first day or so everything was great.
Now, two weeks later, everytime the car hits a large bump or goes over a larger speedbump, I can hear it squeak. (Actually it sounds more like a crunchy fart if you want to be exact)
At first it freaked me out because I thought maybe I hadn't torqued down the endlinks well enough, but I checked them and they're OK. This makes me think that it's the bushings. No-limit warned me about the potential for squeaky bushings on the rear swaybar when I got it from him, so I think this may be the case for the front ones.
Before I tear apart the front end of my car again (major PITA) can anyone recommend a good grease for those bushings?
Thanks

I have the whiteliune swaybars out front and in the back and I did the same thing greased them up and after a couple of weeks they started to squeak I am positive it has something to do with the polyurthene bushings. My friend swaped every bushing in hsi Camero with suspesion technique bushings and his car does nothing but squeak but it sure did stiffen it up poly bushings = squeaking sorry..
yup, ... it is in fact the polyurethane bushings. Get used to it. It is a part of your life now. It will not go away until those bushings are worn the fck in. Trust me. Lube it all you want, ... but a couple days later, maybe even a week later if you're lucky, they will squeak again!
Do you ever hear the rear ones squeak? They are purty darn worn in!!!
If you were to get the bushings that come with the Cusco bars, they won't squeak like that.

well, then that saves me the pain of taking the front end apart to get at the bushings. I guess I'll just have to drive the squeak out
Thanks

Silicone grease is the answer, will not break down or wash out. Liberally lube any surface where you might have movement against the poly bushing, including inside and outside of bushing and any sleeves or washers. Can be found at autoparts, hardware, appliance parts stores, and industrial supplys.
did you clean the bushing before install? sometime dirt could be the problem. when i did my rsb, same thing. I took it off, clean them suckers, little grease. bam! noise is gone!
