parking brake help?

hey guys, i've got an 04 WRX bought last june with 14600 mi on it. yeah i drive it as a commuter. anyway my problem is, lately it feels as if the parking break needs to be pulled a bit higher in order to make sure the car wont roll on an incline. is that normal? is there a way to tighten it so it will lock up the break without pulling as high? is it easy to do? thanks in advance for your guyses expertise. or is this a warranty thing i should bring the car into the dealership for?

Parking brakes are cable actuated, and as you use it the cable 'stretches' a little (it doesn't really stretch, it just gets longer because it gets pulled tighter...you mtn bike guys know what I'm talking about...). So after time, the parking break will definatly take a longer pull to actuate. Also, if you use it to powerslide or anything like that I'm sure it'll wear quicker.
