greasing brake pads

is it necessary? also what kind.. would it be ok to use multipurpose lithium grease?

Uhh...one of the two of us is an idiot...either you for wanting to grease your brake pads (!!?!?!?!??! don't even touch your brake pads, the oil fouls them...) or me for not understanding what you're asking.

i think hes refering to the back of the brakes, where the pads sit.

u should use something that specifically for brakes, as they get very hot

Only grease them if they squeel. In most cases they are fine without grease. Any yeah, there is special high temp brake pad and spindle grease at your local parts store.
