Coilover dampening question

I have Cusco zero 2s, which I know are 5-way adjustable, but I bought them from a guy and not sure what setting they are on. There is no real arrow or anything to make sure they are set to 1 or 5.

Do I tighten them untill the top doesn't move any more? I tried to turn them to the right to see but the top did two full rotations (not just 5-clicks) so I turned them back and thought I would ask the gurus before I end up damaging anything.

I tried the search but couldn't narrow down a question that gave the answer I wanted.

Thanks

Its Damping, and you will only be able to go max 5 ways stiffer or softer. On my jics you cannout go past the 15 settings id assume it was the same on the cusco. Clockwise if stiffer and counter is softer on most all coil overs.

I thought the same thing but the stupid thing can go way over the five clicks. It is very frustrating. Good to know about the JICs though.

For most coilovers the dampening adjs. is clock-wise is stiffer and counter is softer. I would have suggested that you leave them soft first before you installed them, because just in case you installed them with stiff settings then and put the car on the ground, the heavy load on the stiff settings could possibly weaken the strut and have a better chance of blowing them. You want to also make sure if they are monotube shocks.
