Strut Dampening - Front and rear

On our cars, whats best? Equal dampening on both the front and the rear, softer in the front, softer in the rear? Why? I have my coilovers set to 20 out of 30 in the front and 15 out of 30 in the rear going off of what I read in an iwsti forum, but I was a bit back and fourth bouncy on the way home tonight and I think its due to the uneven dampening. Is there a right way to do this before I go out and tweak my car for a day? Thanks.

Are they compression dampening only? That would help in helping you.

i have the rear softer, since there is less weight back there. mine were a bit bouncy at first so i took it to mean that the shocks were too soft and i was pogoing on the springs only. i have flexes

Hehe your making your rounds I guess eh? Anyway...I am not completely sure to be honest. How can I tell? I am running the BC coilovers - they make megan's. You can see some pics of them at https://www.i-club.com/forums/showth...5&page=3&pp=20 . Thanks

Thats a good point. And another good point. I'll take that into consideration...makes sense.

I found m KYB AGX have to much dampening for my tastes. I'm assuming these coilovers will be stiffer on the stiff side than my four way KYBs. I turn my fronts all the way down on the street and if I remember too I'll click it up one on track. The rears are full stiff to get it to rotate. So...try turning the front down and see how it feels. And when you make a change that you'll notice. Like 6 or 7 click at a time. And warm up to it. Don't make an adjustment and smash off. If you go one click at a time you'll waste a lot of time. Schumacher can tell the difference between a click but us mortals usually can't.

edit: Oh yeah. They look like they have compression only adjustment. When shocks have both rebound and compression the price goes up.

I have tein flex on my STi. My bounces too but I think it's maily due to the poor road conditions we have here. I have at 15f/15r for the street and 3f/5r for track. The bounciness also depends on your spring rate. The harder your springs the harder you'll feel the bounce. But the main thing is the bad roads. On the track that is smooth, you're car won't be like that.
