I've heard good things about Porterfields, Hawk, Carbotech and Stoptech pads so far... Axxis ultimates seem to also be a cheap favorite if not for the dusting. But I don't think ultimates are available yet for the 04 model. I just put a set of Stillen pads on my 04 (along with SS brake lines and ATE Superblue fluid). So far, no complaints. A little more responsive, but I wonder if different pads will make more of a difference.

As far as I can tell, I don't think you can really go wrong - see what's in your price range and check out a few dealers sites like Oakos.com and Subydude.com to see what they're offering...

Good luck,
-C

brake pads

hi:
I put Carbotech bobcats front and rear and love them. really improve the braking, no added dust that I notice.

I have the widely complained about EBC greenstuffs on my OBS, but all I have to complain about is the dust. They resist fade nicely on the freeway, and have served me well in a few 'sudden braking' situations.
