Lightbulb alignment issues

hey everybody, before you come down on me for not doin a search, i did one; just didn't come up with solid answers to MY particular questions...

i just put in the tein flex setup and now i need an alignment; the front is pretty easy, right; i just set the tophats to 0 and have the tech set the camber to 0. then i can adjust the camber later with the tophats; sound right?

Toe: factory spec in both front and rear?

what about the rear camber? should i ask for -1 on both the rears?

i dont spend much time at the track, just lots of canyon runs...
will one degree negative in the rear wear the tires really bad, or will normal rotations cure that?

thanks again for the help. you guys rock. later, Bennie

1 degree won't wear too hard. You'll probably balance the extra inside wear with the outside wear from pushing the car on asphalt roads. And your assumptions about the camber plates are correct, except I wouldn't count on the markings to be exactly right as far as measurement of camber- but you can expect them to match from side to side and allow to to adjust them properly (sort of like a dyno that consistently gives high or low readings- the actual number doesn't matter, jsut the repeatability).

Thumbs up cool

as always, thanks Ban. so you concur that 1 degree of negative camber in the rear is a good place for a highway cruiser that likes to get on country style sometimes???

and i forgot to ask my question about tein tophat notches... just like Ban said, the notches don't mean much except for comparison so you get both sides the same. does anybody have any idea what camber measurement each notch represents?

again, thanks for the help all, you guys and gals are a great resource, this is the subaru lifestyle!

and all you Oregonians, wave when you see me (WRB rex). nobody ever pays attention out there... we gotta show the love, eh? later

Thumbs up thanks dude

i appreciate the help. but... i got the alignment last monday. i had him set the rears to the stock setting of -1.5, and we're still figuring out what the front should be to get some nice oversteer. the alignment tech at les schwab was super cool though, he listened patiently as i explained the different adjustments the coilovers have, and that the top mounts are adjustable and that the rear has a camber kit and blah blah blah... but he let me hang out while he did it and we kinda worked it together to get it right. he even set the fronts to zero and then we moved the top mounts in one notch at a time and found that on the Tein flex topmounts (probly same as some of their others as well) each notch equals about 1/4 degree of camber adjustment.

does anybody know what the stock WRX front camber is??? we want to go in like another degree negative from that, right?

thanks again fella, take it easy.
