Would this void warranty?

I believe that the law states that the manufacturer has the burden of proof when it comes to warrant. Which means that they have to prove that whatever mod you did caused the problem.
For example, blaming a suspension modification for a engine problem, unless they can show a direct connection from the mod to the problem. Like if you installed a boost controler and the engine coincidentally exploded a week later.
Now whether or not the dealer will give you immediate warranty service is another question. You might have to take them to court, but the burden of proof should be on them in court.
Check out he K&N website, they have the a copy of warrant law on their website.
