trying to buy an 2.5 RS

THESE babies seem to be soooo hard to find!!

i really want one around 96-01

where can i find these?? ive checked everywhere

if possible, near nor*cal

How about a newer 2.5

Unless you need a 2door or really like the GC8, the 05 RS' start at 17,700 or so. the older RS' go for 12,000+ and that gen EJ25 had some head gasket probs. I was in the same position a few days ago.....Now I'm based toward the newer ones ...vvvvvv

Car Info: 00 RS - Silverthorn / 04 Forester XT - PSM

The first year that the RS was in the US was 98. The 98's had a slightly different bumper with smaller foglights.
The 98 and 99 RS's have Headgasket problems with the 98 being DOHC with a MAF sensor and 99's having a SOHC with a MAF sensor.

00 and 01 RS's are the way to go. With rear LSD's SOHC and MAP sensors they are relatively less trouble free. All seem to have wheel bearing problems at some point.

Agreed! the 00-01s are the best bunch. My 2001 2dr RS has been running like a champ. And that includes autocross and some winter rallies! After 4 years of ownership, ppl still come up to me asking about the car.
