Subaru's Credit Card

hey all-

is anyone here familiar with subaru's credit card? can i use the points "earned" towards a new car purchase? just curious...

Yes, you should be able to. That's what the info with the credit card say's. You can use the points ($$$) towards any Subaru product.

the only sucky thing is that the APR is pretty high (around 11%). worth it if you pay stuff off quickly, but otherwise it aint

The secret to credit cards is only buy what you know you can pay off when the bill comes. If you use it for everything and pay it off every month, your money stays in your intrest bearing account. If the card has no annual fee, you use the banks money for the month like a loan, for free. BUT you must pay it off every month.

yes u can for every 3000 or so u spend u get 100, u can recieve up to 400 a year, and they last about 7 years. and u can buy anything subaru sells, even towards a new car.

note- i buy all my car parts with my subie plat card, and then when i get bucks back i buy more from dealerships which sell aftermarket. like i bought a prodrive axleback couple of months ago.

My credit is perfect for my age. I tried to apply online and they denied me. i think i might have to call them.

That might be your best bet. I just remembered that when I got my first Subaru credit card, it was with a different bank, so maybe this one is a little more strict.

You can get up to $500 subaru bucks per year. You can buy more from other people though. They are advertised on here for $75 for a $100 subaru bucks certificate all the time.

Not sure how many of those you can apply towards a new car though.

hmm, i would be interested to find out exactly how much i could redeem on a single (ie, car) purchase. buying the subaru bucks at .75 on the dollar isn't too bad of an exchange rate.

Okay, I called SOA (Subaru of America) today on their 800 number. After I called Chase and was rerouted 40 times, wow I'm glad I have my Subaru card through Chase. :-) Anyway, SOA told me that you can use $2000 towards a new vechicle, which is 4 years worth, and they have to be used within 4 years.

I hope this helps.

I own 3 subarus now, I'd highly recommend them if you are looking at buying one.

so, i can spend $2000 per year or can i only accumulate that much and then spend it? i mean, think about it, if you use your card to buy and pay for all expenses, it wouldn't be too hard to get that much. i get creative about paying bills with the card

I think there is also something about not being able to use more then $2000 at any one time.
