I was driving down the road and noticed the the Reeve's Motorsport dealer in Tampa has a lot with some Subarus. I stopped and decided to check them out.
They had 1 STi, 2 '04 WRX's and 1 carry over '03 in yellow.
I was talking to the salesman who happen to have "lost his voice". But could sure talk his *** off. He told me everything that he knew or thought he knew about the WRX.
He proceded to tell me that the WRX is the "best and fastest car on the market". He also said that the 227hp WRX would beat my '00 Steeda GT with 391rwhp because "If I look at my GT motor, it's not centered which makes the axles shorter on one side than the other. The WRX has a perfectly centered motor which gives the car a perfect balance and even axles. That makes all the wheels spin evenly making the car have more traction".
I was like wtf? Lets go for a test drive. He drove the car with me in the passenger seat and my girlfriend and another sales man he was training in the back onto this part of Rome Ave. that has a lot of S-turns. He actually drove through there kinda hard. LOL. Then he gave me the keys and it was my turn.
This was my first time driving the WRX. I drove it through the S-turns pretty hard for my first time. I've have a lot of SCCA autocross/Road racing experience with my car.
It was real funny to look back and see the salesmen in the rear view mirror hanging on for there lives. LOL.
I also drove the car in a straight line racing it to feel how it accelerates.
My opinions are the car needs new tires. The factory ones are only good for grandma in all-season driving. The shifter is a little weak feeling. I actually thought I broke something when I banged 2nd gear. The look on the saleman face almost confirm it.
There is also a be lag/bog down between shifts no matter how quick you shift. Feels like it might have been a fuel cut or something. The car also needs way more power. It has decent low end and mid. But the upper RPM's need some more kick.
The car does handle well for stock. Brakes decent. I did like the stock clutch feel a lot. Nice and light. All in all, I'd buy it, but it need some work.
Well, that's my review. Now just gotta figure if I want a silver or blue one.

ignorance is the key!
how can anyone in their right mind de-face a steeda gt? especially to a customer who might be interested in buying a car from you? i dunno, maybe its just me...but if i wanna sell somethin to someone the last thing i wanna do is belittle their car.
now if you want something close to what u already have check out da sti.... its h.p./weight ratio is pretty good.(1h.p. for every 10 lbs!-imagine!!! a horse with the same strength only weighing that!!)

You have to put the clutch in all the way

I was looking at the STi. I'm actually thinking of going that route.
Just gotta find one that's not marked up.
from your review of the car, you might want to include in your list of upgrades a new tranny cuz i can see how the stock tranny is gonna go on you. it seems like you're used to something a little more robust with a better feel....

LOL, Yeah I was thinking of that. Kinda one of the reasons I'm thinking about the STi.
Does anyone know the MSRP of an '04 STi?
