Might as well change air & fuel filters, transmission/diff oil, every week as well, just to be sure.

If you just bought the car with zero miles on it, I would recommend against weekly changes until after the break in period. I remember reading somewhere about seals and such needing to have a proper interval in the beginning of an engines life in order to ensure that the engine breaks in right.
A tech told me once that the oil, especially the oil from the factory has some time release period that it goes through. I don't know if I believe it or not, but I think that's the same idea with the Mobil 1 5K, 7,500 and 15K.

I may sound like a rude hippy, but that is disgusting. Do you REALLY believe all this crap about a never ending source of oil, or do you just not give a crap like everyone else? Your children should be proud of the planet you are leaving for them.

Its bad enough you have to be rich or truly dedicated to conserve anything in this coutry....

I have 143K miles on WRX...3K miles between oil changes on conventional oil. No leaks...no burning. Been stage 2 since about 40K miles. I guess if you find changing oil a fun hobby...more power to you. Or if one day you want to be able to open up your engine and show your grandkids how clean it is...

Wait, there are hippies in Humbolt Co.??

Definitely excessive and wasteful. While you're at it, you should throw away all your silverware, plates, cups, and clothes and just get new stuff made out of non-recycled paper and polyester every day so that you can "run clean."

Your oil filter is there to help your wrx run clean, not the 5+ gallons of oil you are going through in a month.

I don't want to turn this thread into a tree hugging fest either, but it is a similar mentaility to this that creates the bad image of Americans that most of the rest of the world sees. Be aware of the resources you have and appreciate them.

OP, you're stupid. That is grossly excessive and very unnecessary.
