There is absolutely no point in that...every 3k miles is fine. Even 4k now with synthetic.

That's great! Your engine should last a long time, especially if you don't abuse it. The problem is that the money you spent on oil and filters each week will eventually exceed the cost of replacing a worn engine with a low mileage short block. How long do you plan on keeping the car? There's a point of diminishing returns. Stick with Subaru's recommended maintenance schedule.

If Honda is allowing you the perk of not charging you for oil, I would suggest that you don't over-indulge, or they may change their policy.

Isn't there a certain point where you need to let the oil get old? To ensure proper break in and all that.

How many miles were on the car when you started teh weekly oil changes?

If you just bought the car with zero miles on it, I would recommend against weekly changes until after the break in period. I remember reading somewhere about seals and such needing to have a proper interval in the beginning of an engines life in order to ensure that the engine breaks in right.

i did my first oil change at around 2,500 something. and ever since then i started weekly. i only want my wrx to run clean.
