CHP under every rock this week
CHP under every rock this week
Is it just me or has the CHP really stepped up enforcement this week on Bay area highways? Also they have these new stealth cruisers w/o the lightbars on the roof so keep your eyes peeled people.

I noticed a Lot this week. It was weird...
I was going towards 101, and spotted at least 10 cops hiding. Usually there are at least 3... I was stunned.

I got popped on 880N on Wednesday Night at Dixon Landing.
I was driving windows down from the Great Mall the whole way, CHP said he pulled me over for having front window tint, this is the first thing out of his mouth on why he lit me up. HUH?! He added after he mentioned about, that I did not have a front plate mounted. Adds on my exhaust is loud, it's really not untill WOT, but luckily an RX-8 drove by and I was like I think that's a bit louder he said yeah. Came back with a Tint and Plate ticket.
After signing I asked if he had a couple minutes to chat. He did so I asked how he determined that I had front tint when my windows had been rolled down the ENTIRE TIME. His answer, "Normal people do not drive with the windows down on the freeway, you rears are dark too so your fronts would be too"
1)Am I not normal?
2)Is almost 70 degree weather too cold? Esp when I live on the coast.
3)You can determine front tint with rear tint?!
4)Milpitas smells like ****, the cop agreed with that.
I feel like they are desperate to get people these days so watch your back. If his first reasoning was I had no front plate then asked if my windows were tinted different story, don't make your primary reason that my windows were rolled down on a 70 degree day on the freeway as suspicion.... I know plenty of people who have 5% or darker in the rear and nothing on the fronts.

They were very heavy on the 5, 101, 210 and the 10. I saw more CHP this last trip to Az then I have last year added all up.
And they are being sneaky. On the 101 in Paso Robles on the southbound 101, one was off to the right side backed up into the bushes, Laser gun in hand and lights out in the dark. So as you pass him you can no see him till you rear view mirror. And in the dark good luck.
They really have been pushing the limits on hiding and speed traps as of late. I'm glad I only have one more week of Californa freeways full time.

He got you on the plate for the reason to stop. Had you had that on. The rest could have been handled. I'd still make a formal complaint in writing. Since he said your windows were tinted without seeing them 1st. Trial by Dec should help you out if its non correctable.
California has moved to the guilty until proven innocent big time over the last two years. I can't believe some of the crap I hear now on the news.
Makes me glad that I also just converted the truck and the subie over to AZ lic plates.

Man I hate cops who hide. It just shows how lame cops are. IF they want to hand over a ticket, be a real cop and don't hide behind a tree. Yea, people do speed, but IMO, there are people who speed safely by adjusting to the flow of traffic, and people who speed dangerously cutting off people causing an accident, all while going rediculously faster than the flow of traffic.
Cops just want money. -_-

I have also noticed a larger abut of city cops out since the beginning OG the month. Seems double the cars out there now. The other night just driving home from Castro St in mountain view to stanford we saw more than 20 cops on el crapino.
Now that you've mentioned it I've seen a lot of cruisers lately. Like 4 parked just a couple hundred feet from each other and more just cruising the streets. Glad I'm not driving my car.
