CHP under every rock this week
They were very heavy on the 5, 101, 210 and the 10. I saw more CHP this last trip to Az then I have last year added all up.
And they are being sneaky. On the 101 in Paso Robles on the southbound 101, one was off to the right side backed up into the bushes, Laser gun in hand and lights out in the dark. So as you pass him you can no see him till you rear view mirror. And in the dark good luck.
They really have been pushing the limits on hiding and speed traps as of late. I'm glad I only have one more week of Californa freeways full time.

Easiest way to spot a crown vic is by looking on the inside of the highlights for the orange square (turn signal/fog light). I can spot them from half a mile away in my rvm.

Although it is, hard to prove either way even with video. Questioned it via Tell-CHP with a supervisor. They said there are officers who try anything and everything to get people.
yeah you're right, there are lots of LEOs that go beyond their lawful limits. and a lot of them are quick to judge. I had one officer ask me if I was high (never smoked anything before in my life), but when I told him I had just finished a 10 hours shift and was headed to school to study for midterms, his demeanor did a 180.
also, it's just like if they want to perform a search on your vehicle, you have to have your license back in your hands and be told you're free to go, and only then can they ask for permission to search.

For those to travel on the 280N, right before the alemany exit there is a cop in the wide open area on the right shoulder, especially night time. the cop will always have lights off and a radar gun out. I was driving along home the other day and I noticed the cop, I was only going 65 anyways so I wasn't speeding. the cop decides to turn on his lights and chase me down, tailgates the hell out of me, literally a few inches from me because I could barely see his headlights since they were almost driven into my rear bumper. as I was slowing down and attempted to pull over, cop swerves away and turns off his lights. watch out guys, this isn't the first time it happened to me. not to mention my car is stock as hell.

okay seriously, what is the deal with this week?
I just came back from frys in sunnyvale, and in a 20min drive, I spoted 9 cops. Also, 1 cop was hiding behind a large tree a block away from my street!?!?!
Is this week, like, operation cops 2.0? geez...

When its rainy season, chp is too busy responding to accidents to sit and get speeders...so by the end of the month they need to catch up fast so they out in force when it dries up...
They were all over highway 1 from hmb-santa cruz...I commute that stretch every weekday morning and back at night and I usually I see maybe 2 chp a week, more san mateo sheriff...this week I saw at least 1 each trip and saw 3 on my way home thursday evening

I got an escort most of the way to work on Tuesday morning on 880N between 280 and 237. Luckily there was traffic so I couldn't go any faster than 60 but he was riding my *** really f'ing close.

Thanks for the warning. This is not a joke. I saw three chp rolling together on hwy 80 west bound toward appianway on my way to work now. Thankfully, I read this thread prior to departing and was going slower than the speed limit on slow lane. I think weather is good today - so, they may be out there to catch up on unwritten tickets during recent rain and more rain to come this week.

I don't know if this is also happening in your area, But I was on el camino near Downtown Mountain View. In less than a block, I had 4 idiotic drivers. Im guessing there are more cops too because Im noticing more and more aggressive driving. The one driver that pissed me off the most was a White Toyota Highlander Hybrid 2010 i believe, and a woman talking on the f*cking phone. So I had my turn signal on for roughly 10sec, and made sure I was merging "safely". once I merged into her lane, she gave me the most obnoxious honk ever.
All in all, Im not sure if im just noticing it, but I believe there is more aggresive driving that has been going on recently...
