Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

What oil and oil filter are you guys running?

What oil and oil filter are you guys running?

I'm running on my Outback's EJ25D right now:

5W-30 Castrol Syntec Blend
Subaru Honeywell OEM oil filter

Running a synthetic blend because I want to run a slightly better motor oil. Running OEM oil filter since it has the Subaru-spec bypass valve.

Anyone going to try out that new Subaru 5W-30 synthetic?

I run an OEM filter but I think you're honestly wasting your money on any OTC big name brand "synthetic" oils. I use esther based Motul synthetic in my vehicle, but I guess it really just depends on how much you want to spend/what type of driving you do.

I ran it in all of my racebikes, and have heard nothing but good things about it for Subaru's as well.

I wouldn't run redline in the 5MT. Stick to Subaru Extra-S to keep that trans happy.

We use both Redline and Subaru Extra; some customers like one over the other.

I only use OEM filters and Mobil 1 synth on all of my cars/trucks for years. My last car had 208K when I sold it and ran like a champ.
