good luck finding one for 15K or less. unless it's been recked then I think you're going to be paying at least 17K and if it's got mods from a private owner then it will be more.

nothing bad to say about waialae, but i'd offer some advice before you buy- just to make sure that you are getting a good deal.

I don't think NINO is with Ohana anymore

keepin' your options open...

Axngurl- shoot G-dogg a PM with what you're looking for, and see if he can help you. He's on here all the time, has been here for a while, and has a really good idea of what subies are worth, and what works well for your area. Even if he can't sell you a car (I don't know how far apart you guys are, we New Englanders have a warped sense of distance for anything south of New York), he can probably help you save a bunch of money.
I think you're wise to go with the 5-speed, and unlike what you've heard above, if you're patient, you shouldn't have a problem getting into a 03-04RS or an 02 WRX for that price range (WRX would have to have around 50K miles though).
Best of luck in your search, and drop us some pix of your new Subie when you do get one.

WAIT Action Girl!

I just saw on the TV that same commercial in reference to all the "Fleet" Subaru RS's that they're selling.

The rental fleet...Greg, do you know what dealership is selling them? Is it the Budget dealership?

Rentals are only auto's, and you will never be happy with an auto. I have or still own a 98 RS (auto, but soon to be 5mt), 2003 WRX, and 2004 STi. The RS is by far the most fun to drive, or at least it will be once I get the 5MT in it. It feels lighter and more agile than my STi does with a lot less mods. You can make your RS haul if you have the time and paitence. You can also happily race an RS at AutoX, or Superlap. You just want to make sure you buy an LSD off of someone as it will help a lot. If you want a FAST car and want to do lots of mods. The WRX is going to be cheaper to make power with since you can just throw a bigger turbo on it. I want to make around 180 to 200 WHP with my RS. That will take a good amount of money, but with that much power and the handling piece that I have already put in the car I'll be blowing by stock WRX's and most slightly modified ones also. My car will also weight about 300 LBS less if not more once I start cutting the unnessisary weight out of the car.

ooookay. i didnt understand most of what you said ^^^ but i think i got it. youre talking about perfomance and "racing" stuffs. im not really interested in all that right now cuz i dont know much. what i do want right now is a wrx 5spd. but im willing to settle for a 5spd rs. id like to get something with *****. but im thinking the wrx would have better room for "improvements" like the ones you mentioned above. one of my coworkers is planning on selling his bug eye but i didnt get a chance to see if it was a rs or not. i think it might be an rs. oh well i gonna talk to him one day.

RS is better suited to you. WRX has *****, but you'll get tired of them after they sit in your mouth a little while.

nah. i dont mind. i like *****. meaning power but the other ones are good too. but the more i hear about the rs the more i like it. it depends really on whether i think im gonna do performance stuff on it later. then i think itd be better to go with the wrx right?

In my opinion, if you want performance, get the WRX. You'll have more fun with Turbo
