I just purchased that new Mobil 1 oil that supposedly has 15,000 or one year change intervals. Does anyone think that it's safe to use on a WRX? It's guaranteed by Mobil.

 

sure it will work (so long as it's of the appropriate viscosity), but I wouldn't wait 15,000 miles if you drive it hard. the oil will last but it will get contaminated by blow by especially if you're on boost often. thats why even with synthetic people still change every 2-3k if they drive hard.

 

yea...i would NEVER go 15,000 miles on one oil change no matter what company guarantees.. To me that just seems crazy, but then again i drive pretty hard

 

I agree, specially on a turbo.
