on the verge of making a purchase, comments plz
will purchase a 2005 impreza wrx sti within the next 3 days.
right now the best offer is from marin subaru (im located in the san francisco bay area), 500 under invoice, for the price of 30,180 +tax/fees.
every other dealership within 100 miles is asking for at least 1000 more, the only other competitived priced is stevens creek, but after reading through this site, their reputation makes me uneasy about making a purchase through them.
p.s. marin also have around the bay area, one of the lowest sales tax, at 7.25%, this will ultimately save roughly 300-350 dollars.
so plz, this is a big purchase, any comments, opinions, regarding the car or the sale is welcomed.

ask about "fees"
make sure you ask what "+tax and fees" means. Most dealers do charge a service fee, and it varies a lot from state to state. Not a lot of dealers do this anymore, but I've seen places that will just drop the price, then tack on an extra "document preparation fee" of $300 at the end, and when you question it (after you've driven there, filled out the paperwork, etc), they say "Oh, all dealers do this".
Also, if you have a trade, make sure they're not holding extra on your trade. $30,180 is not out of the question for an STi though. I sell them for less than that. (I'm in New England though).
