mid 90's imprezza

is what i'm shopping for, but i wanna make sure i'm getting the best deal for my money. I can afford anywhere from a 93 to maybe a 96. I would prefer a 2dr, but i realise that leaves my window down to 2 years, so i can be flexible. Are there any years in there I should steer clear of? Which would be the best? I don't plan on racing like crazy, just getting to work a little faster than everybody else. I will also probably do some work on it later on down the line. Any insight would help out, as I'm getting closer to being able to purchase one.

also, what are some good websites to look at for subaru classifieds? theres a very small number of them in my area.

try NASIOC.com.

Within that age range, production numbers are not particularly high. Your best bet is to make a list of things that you DON'T want (e.g. I must have power windows, and I hate white), and start looking for any nice clean well maintained car that doesn't have anything that you can't tolerate. If you start off your search only looking for blue 2 doors, even though black or silver would also be fine, you're likely to miss a really good car, and not get another shot at a nice one for a while.

Condition and maintence record are the most important thing when buying a 10 year old car.

www.craigslist.com

I just got a 94 with a new timing belt and other maintenance, 130k miles, AWD sedan, all for $1100 and the thing is near mint for being a city car. Do some shopping youll find alot of cheap cheap subys out there. For some reason people often sell early 90s and earlier subys for insanely low prices compared to similar makes and models.

heh, i forgot to put in my post that craigslist is where i check frequently I've been looking in my area and coming up with nothing, so i'm slowly starting to look further and further out in the country. its just tough to find one that i like. the biggest problem that i run into is that, for the most part, they're all automatic. Which isn't a huge deal, but i get bored driving when its not manual. I'm sure you all understand.
