New Impreza Owner
Hi all. I am a 18 year old male from Pennsylvania, and I am the proud new owner of a 2003 Impreza 2.5 RS. I think i got a steal too, total with no money down and 6 % sales tax came to 19100. I was wondering what you guys think
- First Of the 2.5 RS auto
- What Mods I should do right away
And
-What I Should Know About my Impreza

Welcome aboard!
First thing to do, is to always remeber, that Impreza is spelled with only one "Z".
There are thousands of mods you can do to your car. Best thing to do is to browse and search around this message board and see what other people have done to their cars. That will give you some ideas of what you might want to do. Then, fun begins.
2.5RS Auto is a great car. I had a 2.5RS before with MT. Now besides WRX I also have a Legacy GT (2.5 AT) and I love it.

Mods you should do...........it depends what you're looking at i.e. what type of racing application...street driven/weekend racer... some sound.....bit more power....etc..
If you like spirited driving, a upgrade rear sway bar like maybe a 20mm would make the whole vehicle more fun to drive.
Tires should be something to look at. Not that th stock ones suck, but there's a certain area of suck and good. They'll last a long while. I'm not good at tire selevtiong but I hope someone can shine some info on it.
Something that IS a need is to know where your car's limits are and not exceeding it. Gradually approach it and stay safe.
AWD cars have what many call lift-off throttle steer. Actually all cars you can do this. When you lift off the throttle and turn-in, the rear end will come around better. This helps in turning. This is due to the use of the engine for slowing the car down and weight being transfered to the front tires. But it does not mean that more weight at a tire means that it'll turn better. More weight and you'll get more tire slip angle and turn less... This maybe too technical but it's just a little something to get you to know (if you already know it, ignore me...LOL)

Nah thanks. I appreciate it. Im new to performance mods and all. I want to make it a sleeper right now. Street legal to get me to class, but I wanna be able to smoke a Civic no problem. I am going to take my old system out of my 98 Mustang GT and tranfer it into the Impreza. I currently have:
-Kenwood HU
-3 10" JL Audio W6's
-2 Titanium Amps for Speakers
-3 Titanium Amps for Subs
-Polk/Momo Componets and 6x9's.
-1 5Farad Titanium Cap
I just have to determine what fits and what doesnt.
I am also reading up on performance parts. I am thinking of doing:
-Cold Air Intake
-SPT Exhaust from Dealership
and
-adding a turbo kit down the road. But I want to know if I add the turbo, will i blow my engine or will the AT beable to handle it. Sorry I dont know performance to well. Also where is a good place to buy parts online for my car?
