On Friday I was leaving work so I had everything loaded up in the back, went to go get paycheck from my boss. I got there and was going to get out a toolbox out of the hatch area for him, and the door won't open. I locked and unlcoked it automatically and with the key. You can hear it unlock and such, but it won't open. What should I do???? It is a pain in the butt to get stuff out of the back when it doesn't open. Thanks!

does the lever feel loose? the door handle hook probably feel off, or broke.

 

are you talking about your 93 impreza? since its 11 years old its possible that you may need to replace a cable or lock system- if i read right your talking about the hatch...

the problem is the outside handle is rusted at the hinge area.trust me its a easy fix.carefully take the hatch cover off from the inside.you will onl be able to pull the top off sue to the lower cover still being secured.but this will give you room to move the rod with your hand.bam,now its open and you can put that 10 dollar new handle on from your subaru dealer which will take all of 15 minutes to do.then the smile will return to your face while your enjoying your beer after a job well done.l
