Having options removed?
Hi all,
I'm looking to get a new WRX and saw one with an option I do not want. How difficult (or is it generally not done) is it to ask the dealer to remove the option from the car? The option I'm not interested in is the OEM sub/amp. I figure the actual time it would take to remove the sub is perhaps 5 minutes to do although I'd assume the dealer would say, "well, the cost of labor to remove it just isn't worth it because our labor rates are $xx per hour..." and try to push me into getting it.
Thanks!

just tell them that you are interested in the car, but not the subwoofer.
they should have no problem removing it. if its an issue, tell them to throw it in for free. if they refuse just say you will just go to a different dealer that has what you want.
its nothing for the PDI tech to remove it

Car Info: 05 WRX Wagon (Crystal Gray)
They legally can't remove it because it's on the window sticker of the car.
If you take that car without the sub in it you can say that you were cheated. Everything that is on the window sticker you must take home or the dealership can get seriously sued.
They can "throw it in for free" if they want to eat the cost of that item. Or they can see if they have a like car without it. But they can't just take it off an put it on another car.

Thanks for the info everyone... the dealer did go ahead and "toss it in".
Impretzle,
I'm not opposed to the subs... just didn't want to have to fork out any additional $$ for something I know isn't the best (there are tons of aftermarket subs out there cheaper and better).
Going to give this sub a try though and if I don't like it... its going to be for sale on i-club!
