extended warranty

is purchasing the extended warranty really necessary?

I am getting ready to return mine. Seems to me that if you have one of the 'bad' tranny's, it will break very early on under the normal warranty. Other than that, Suby's are pretty solid.

Extended warrantys for anything pay off to the manufacturer way more often than to the consumer. Besides, from what I hear of SOA's backing.... =(
